EGames Central is planning to open soon in the Time Square West mall in south Fargo.

“The lease has officially been signed!!” the company announced on its Facebook page. “Coming soon to 5050 13th Ave. S. in Fargo!! Across the street from Walmart and Texas Roadhouse. See you in June!!!”

According to the EGames website, it will be a place “for gamers and like-minded people to socialize and interact by providing a fun, safe, and positive atmosphere.”

Owner James LaBelle said the focus will be on computers and online gaming, including competitive gaming and tournaments.

As part of the set-up, there will be 24 high-capability computers put together by ByteSpeed in Moorhead.

“We’re looking forward to big tournaments on a nightly level … different leagues,” LaBelle said. “We’re looking at all sorts of fun stuff … sort of like a modern arcade.”

LaBelle is a Moorhead High School graduate who lived in Las Vegas for 12 years. He worked at the Luxor Las Vegas resort and casino, which had opened a giant gaming arena that included “really, just some amazing stuff.”

In his return to the area, LaBelle said he wanted to “take on a new challenge” and be at the forefront of electronic gaming in the region.

According to the EGames website (egamescentral.com), the business will also offer virtual reality experiences, a selection of gaming consoles, and the ability to broadcast on the Twitch live-streaming video platform.

Some events being scheduled include Fortnite Fridays (all things Fortnite with skins, prizes and contests), Monday Night Madden (gaming during Monday Night Football), and Tuesday evenings with Mario Party and Hearthstone, according to the website

EGames will be in Suite 9 on the east side of the mall, next to African Market and Olivieri’s Salon on 13th.
